Website Pages

Home - every website has a home page and it is usually the most important page on the website. Your home page should quickly and clearly introduce what you do and who you are - it should contain your logo (your brand name), some eye catching images or video if applicable.

The home page also acts as a gateway to the content pages of the website - navigation should be clear and simple. The home page doesn't need to contain much detailed content but should contain as a minimum, relevant information about what you offer.

About - businesses and organisations must have an 'about us' page. The about page is used to give more details about the history of your business or organisation. It doesn't usually go into detail about your products or services but gives an overall picture of what you do, your ethos and who you are.

It can include details about staff members or owners. Pictures and video can personalise this page and impart trust to potential customers.

Contact - The contact page should be very easy to find if you want people to contact you. This must contain information on how you can be contacted, for example, email only, phone (never supply a phone number that you cannot be contacted on) or opening hours and most important - your address ( this provides your customer with the assurance that you are real - not a scam). Basically a contact page should make it very easy for customers to get in touch.

Services and/or Products - these pages make up the bulk of the content of the website. These pages should contain full details of the products or services that you provide.

Portfolio and/or Testimonials - these pages are used to give potential customers confidence in your work. A portfolio page will show work that you have already completed and a testimonials page will contain comments from previous customers. For some businesses or individuals this may not apply but should be used if available.
